Clyde Winston's Blog

Hello world! πŸ‘‹

It took me 5 years, but hell yea, here we go again...

I'm taking another knock at Blogging!

This time it's different... ( πŸ™„πŸ™„ )

What I realized from 3 failed attempts at Blogging

1.Blogging can get expensive.
Hosting and platform costs can get pricey. Especially upon renewals. When you aren't blogging for money, these costs add up easily.

2. It can get really complicated.
In the beginning, learning how to handle a website for a non-tech guy is exciting. But when inspiration wears out, and something breaks, then it isn't fun anymore.

3.Life always happens.
My last entry from my old blog was in 2020, I got married the year after that, then had a baby the year after. I had adulting milestones and priorities shifted. Not by choice but by necessity. The only thing I regret was that I stopped writing.

What's different now?

I found Bear blog via chatGPT, read Herman's blog and was sold.
Site is clean, simple, minimalistic and had a no frills pricing.

I took my credit card and paid for a lifetime access right away. I've also found porkbun around the same time and decided to pay for a 10 year domain cost.

I am now in this for the long haul. I made sure I have no more excuses for the next 10 years.

Why blog (again?)

Shifting priorities and learning to focus.

I've been a consumer for quite some time now, I want to take a shot at creating again.

I am also getting the hang of being a father (which I really like btw). Home is a bit less hectic, so I'm gaining the momentum to write again.

I am staying here to build my garden and find my tribe. Experiment with my ideas and sharpen my thinking.

I hope to meet wonderful people in this space and get to share something potentially meaningful to my fellow human.

Nice to meet you!
